Tokyo 2020
Crafted in stainless steel, this watch features a 42 mm case, mounted with a blue ceramic bezel ring filled with a white enamel diving scale and a polished-brushed bracelet that is seamlessly integrated with the case.
To complement the blue, there is a polished white ceramic dial with extra depth provided by the laser-engraved waves, along with blue hands and indexes and the famous Seamaster name highlighted in red. The dial design is completed by a date window at 6 o’clock.
The sapphire crystal caseback features a transferred Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem marking this special moment in time, while on the inside, we can see the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 – which has been officially certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). Michael Phelps, the most awarded Olympian in history with 28 Olympic Games medals, including 23 gold, has been a part of the OMEGA brand family since 2004 and he is one of the first people to wear this new watch on their wrist. He has always known about the importance of time for an athlete.
According to his words: “If you’re an Olympian, or trying to become an Olympian, it’s a 24-hour, 7 day a week job. It’s non-stop. It’s around-the-clock.”
And he knows exactly what it takes to achieve that coveted gold medal, saying, “To really be prepared for Olympic Games, you have to put in the work. You have to go through the struggle. For the journey I went five times, it was never easy, but I know the work that I was doing gave me the results that I deserved.”
